A Man Standing à EdimbourgPublié le 30.07.2016

En août, "Un homme debout" prend son envol vers le Fringe Festival à Edimbourg dans sa version anglaise "A Man Standing" !

Jean-Marc Mahy entered prison at the age of seventeen. He spent nearly 20 years detained, three of them in solitary confinement. On stage with performer Stephane Pirard, Jean-Marc describes the imprisonment, humiliation, isolation and madness that was to come...

A Man Standing is the true story of a man fighting for his life, an honest and passionate testimony made by Jean-Marc with the aim to stop other young men from following his path.

A complex ode to hope and courage that drives us to remain standing, against all odds.

A bold and powerful play..It’s not an easy thing to do, since its all secret. Solitary is what we in the US call a “black site”. It is a hidden world. No amount of monologue, or phony recreations will do the trick of breaking it into open view. This is different. Finally a taste of the real thing.

If I have any criticism, it is the account is too short. I wanted to know a lot more about this man and his journey. But for all that, it is a dramatic, highly charged tale, well told .
